I belatedly received pictures of Orla and her family at the weekend.

They are all doing really well, and Orla has proven to be a very good Mum (unlike Pippa, who soon go bored with the idea  )

Orla's Mum still thinks that the mostly likely 'dad' for the girls would have been a Springer Spaniel, as several have quite wavy coats.

The puppies are currently known as

The boys - 'Dave'; 'Derek' 'Doh' (apparently meaning Dot On Head 8) )

The girls - 'Tootsie' (as she has a slighly odd toes on one back foot), and 'Spotty-Botty' (quite self-explanatory that one even if not very flattering!)

These pictures took a long to get to me, and I think were taken about 2 weeks ago just as their eyes were opening:-

I have been promised some 'individual' ones soon.

The pups are doing well, and now eating solid food (in a rather messy sort of way!), and it is hoped to get them outside in the next few days - weather permitting.

(N.B. Alison who is looking after Pippa has also told me that she took some more pictures yesterday, and has promised them to me soon!)

They are all looking lovely healthy puppies, and the next challenge will be to match interested parties to individual pups!

Alison has come up trumps and managed to give some updated pictures of Pippa's fast growing pups (taken 2 days ago).

Like Orla's 'Mum', she insists it is night impossible to take decent individual oictures, but has managed one this time!

The pups are now partially weaned, and eating soaked puppy kibble very well, with Pippa only being persuaded to feed them first thing and last thing at night (maybe the recent eruption of puppy-teeth contributing to her increasing reluctance  )

Image

Image

.... and you can clearly see that one at least is going to end up very 'ticked' (which I think is Pinch, the smaller bitch!)

Image

... and I had to include this one, showing Alison's own 9 week recently acquired Lab X Rottie pup joining in - he looks huge! 8)

Image

... and maybe not too sure about his new tiny house-mates ... :)

Image

So as you can see, they are eating well; growing well, and have recently been moved to the kitchen to mix with more dogs, with a view to be allowed outside soon when the weather allows. They are also virtually paper-trained.

And finally, our star picture!

This little charmer is Paige - the largest bitch puppy, and the only one who stayed awake long enough after her supper to allow Alison a photo-opportunity :D

As the pups are all now 6 weeks old, we have started to try and find their perfect new homes.

Many of you have expressed an interest in rehoming a puppy over the past months, and I have started the lengthy task of trying to contact you. BUT it has quickly become apparent that many of you are no longer interested for a variety of reasons, so it would help me if those interested would contact me again (unless I've already spoken to you of course!).

I will give priority to those who have contacted me previously, although new applicants are welcome.

We will be asking suitable families to visit the pups (by appointment) ASAP (ideally this Sunday), with a view to the pups actually being rehomed in 2 weeks time when they are 8 weeks old.

As mentioned before, the pups are currently being cared for near Stevenage, Herts, and that is where you would be expected to visit.

So please get in touch if you feel you can offer our rather lovely puppies a new home. N.B. Please be aware that these will be very active pups (based on our best guess of their parentage i.e. GSP X Labrador X Springer).

To speed things up, if you contact us can you please provide both daytime and evening contact numbers (preferably landline numbers to keep call costs down!).

Thank you.

Alison has is now getting Pippa's pups outside to explore - they think it's great!

And she has sent me a few pictures to prove it!

(N.B. The pups really are quite big - this fact demonstrated particulalrly well as Alison has also just taken on a litter of 9 week old lurcher pups to rehome for another rescue, and they don't look nearly as well grown as ours ..... so the odd black and brown intruders are the lurchers who are also having an outing :) )

This picture my favourite - the pups were supposedly in the smaller area of the garden where there are several water bowls down, but they all decided they preferred to have a drink out of the big water container in the paddock!

and a sample of the others sent ....

... and finally these two - this one showing how big Buddy, Alisons's 10 week Rottie X Lab is compared with the lurcher pups 8)

and then this one, because it is just so cute

So as you can see, they are all looking very happy.

Many thanks again to Alison for doing such a good job with them!

Hello,

Just a quick update ....

8 of the puppies have now been chosen, and 4 have already gone to their new homes :)

So, we have 2 puppies and Mum Pippa left to find homes for.

AFAIK, the two puppies remaining are (in Alison's words LOL) a very spaniel-like, hairy, mad girl and one tubby, smooth, shy boy!

So here is 'Tootsie' - the girl:-

and the imaginatively named 'Doh' (aka 'dot-on-head' ) boy:-

These two pups are from Orla's litter.

Poor Alison has been poorly over the past 2 weeks, and hasn't managed to get me any new pictures of Pippa, but that is being worked on (weather permitting!).

Thanks

Poor Alison has had another busy weekend!

Bernard and Pinch were collected by their new owners yesterday.

Tow more families visited today - provisionally with the idea of them being interested in Kiwi and Bert (which is why they woeren't mentioned yesterday!), however things never go quite to plan, and it was Doh who has been kidnapped to move to the North East, rather than Kiwi as initially planned (she wanted Kiwi, and he preferred Doh, and as the puppoy was priamirly intended for him, his choice won! ).

The family who viewed have gone home to think about it, as their younger dog wasn't too sure what to make of the puppies .... :?

We have another family interested in Kiwi, anda they are visiting this week.

Finally I have today spoken to another family who are hoping to visit Tootsie soon.

So provisiionally, it seems that all the pups have been found homes, so that just leaves lovely mum Pippa!

(Although nothing is ever certain, so until the pups have actually all left ....... 8) )

I can't thank both Alsion and Gill evough for their sterling work in both rearing these puppies, and taking time to show them to the various interested families. It has been very difficult for everyone, and I for one hope not to have to repeat the experience

Regards,
Sarah

Pippa is available for adoption - she is liver and white and about 1 year of age - although she looks pure GSP, Pippa may be a GSP x

Due to her unknown background when she was younger and the fact that she recently gave birth, she is going through her puppy stage a bit late, so she will need to receive obedience training and general walk training on the lead

Ideally, we would like Pippa rehomed where there is another dog, preferrably male, as she tends to prefer male doggie company - Pippa also suffers from Separation Anxiety and can become destructive, but hopefully with exercise and stimulation and company this will resolve itself.

Pippa does guard her toys and balls. It may also be best to feed Pippa on her own in the earlier stages

We are asking for £150 for Pippa plus the cost of 2 vaccinations

There are also 3 puppies still available, although we hope that 2 will be reserved this weekend. The puppies are now about 10 weeks old, one bitch and 2 males - they are possibly GSP x spaniel, but we do not know for sure.

The puppies are £250 plus the cost of 2 vaccinations

Please get in touch if you would like to rehome Pippa or a puppy

Many thanks
Lynn
